Things from Japanese culture are present in our lives right now: a lot of people enjoy anime and Japanese TV series, eat wok and sushi and amaze listening to songs by Japanese singers. And even such a seemingly ordinary thing as karaoke that came from Japan. Meanwhile, several things can only be seen in the Land of the Rising Sun.

“When you watch a green man, go and cross the road,” we got this back when we were children. But on some pedestrian crossings in Japan, it’s not a green man that you will see. The symbol you will see is the rabbit Miffy, a character created by Dick Bruna, a Dutch children’s book author. But how did this character get into Japanese culture? It is simple: Miffy resembles a lot to Hello Kitty, the “face” of the famous brand.
